Brand strategy defines what the brand means. Brand identity defines how people recognise and experience it.

Brand strategy can include positioning, audiences, differentiation, brand architecture, personality, values, messaging and the broader commercial context around the business.

Brand identity translates that thinking into a visual and verbal system: logo, typography, colour, imagery, graphic language, messaging, art direction and the applications required to make the brand work consistently.

We use AI ourselves.

The interesting question isn't whether AI can make something.

It's whether the thing being made is the right thing.

A business still has to understand what makes it different, what it wants to become, who it needs to matter to, what it should communicate and which of thousands of possible creative directions actually means something.

That's where our work starts.

AI has made execution extraordinarily accessible.

We think that makes judgement, originality, strategy and good ideas more valuable, not less.

Yes, where it makes the work better or the process more efficient.

We don't believe clients should pay us to spend ten hours doing something technology can responsibly help us accomplish in one.

But efficiency and authorship aren't the same thing.

Our strategic decisions, creative direction and final design decisions are human-led. AI can be part of research, exploration, prototyping, development and production, but it doesn't replace the discovery, judgement, taste and reasoning behind the work.

The tool isn't the idea.

Because building a website and building the right website are different problems.

Modern AI tools can produce an impressive-looking website extremely quickly. That's useful, and we use many of the same technologies ourselves.

But a serious website still needs decisions about positioning, information architecture, user journeys, hierarchy, messaging, interaction, accessibility, responsive behaviour, performance, integrations, content, visual direction and how the experience expresses the brand.

And then somebody needs to obsess over the last 10% that separates something generated from something considered.

AI has made us faster.

It hasn't made taste obsolete.

Originality is taken seriously.

Our identities are developed specifically for each client rather than selected from pre-made logo libraries or off-the-shelf templates.

As part of the identity process, we research the wider market, competitors, industry trends, the web and available databases to reduce the likelihood of obvious conflicts or similarities.

There is, however, an important distinction between creative originality research and legal trademark clearance.

No designer or agency can reasonably guarantee that nothing remotely similar exists anywhere in the world.

If trademark registration or legal clearance is important, we recommend a formal search by a qualified trademark professional.

No responsible creative agency should guarantee that.

We research for obvious similarities and potential conflicts during the creative process, but formal trademark clearance is a legal exercise.

If trademark protection is important, we recommend involving an intellectual-property or trademark professional who can perform the appropriate searches in the relevant countries, territories and trademark classes.

Websites and digital products may naturally use established technologies, frameworks, libraries and components where doing so is technically sensible.

Our standard project structure generally allows an initial concept to be reconsidered from scratch if it fundamentally misses the mark, followed by up to two rounds of feedback and refinement per deliverable once the direction has been approved.

Normal creative development isn't treated as an extra every time something moves a few pixels.

Significant changes in direction, additional functionality, new deliverables or repeated revisions after approval may become additional scope.

The exact revision structure for your project will always be stated in your proposal or agreement.

Our standard process allows an initial concept to be reconsidered where the proposed direction genuinely doesn't resonate.

But this is also why discovery matters.

The goal isn't to keep producing random options until somebody says "that one."

It's to understand the business well enough to make an informed recommendation — and then refine it together.

It depends on the scope, complexity and speed of feedback.

A complete identity project is typically measured in weeks rather than days.

As a general reference, a full brand identity project may take approximately 2–10 weeks following discovery, depending on scope, feedback and complexity.

We'll give you a realistic project schedule before work begins.

We'd rather set an honest timeline than invent an impressive one.

We don't disappear.

For completed digital work, our standard project terms include one year of support for the finished product, regardless of whether the client hosts with Awove or elsewhere.

That support is there to ensure what we delivered continues to function as agreed and includes updates, bug fixes, technical errors and reasonable ad-hoc check-ins and questions.

For branding projects, we're also available to answer reasonable questions about the identity, files and implementation after handover.

If your needs grow into ongoing development, hosting, creative direction or a more hands-on relationship, we'll scope that separately.

It means we stand behind what we delivered.

If something we've built stops working as agreed because of a bug or technical error within the support period, we'll investigate and fix it.

We can also answer reasonable questions, help clarify how something should be used and provide occasional check-ins.

It does not mean twelve months of unlimited new development or creative work.

New pages, new functionality, substantial content changes, redesigns, third-party changes, new integrations and requests that materially extend the original project are new work rather than support.

The principle is simple:

If the thing we agreed to build needs fixing, that's support.

If you'd like the thing we built to do something new, that's development.

We deliberately don't measure every five-minute question with a stopwatch.

Fair use means occasional, reasonable assistance relating to the work we've delivered: a question, clarification, check-in or small piece of help that can sensibly be handled as part of our relationship with you.

If occasional support starts becoming frequent operational involvement, repeated changes, ongoing development or a significant demand on the team, it has moved beyond fair use.

We won't surprise you with a bill.

We'll tell you when that's happening and agree on an appropriate way to continue before turning it into additional paid work.
